چکیده

Tissue that is damaged and poorly oxygenated as a result of swelling, trauma or inflammation has been shown to have a positive response to laser therapy irradiation. Deep penetrating photons activate a biochemical cascade of events leading to rapid cellular regeneration, normalization and healing. Laser light energy is highly absorbed by skin and subcutaneous tissue, therefore, penetration is key to therapeutic results. Traditional low level laser therapy (Classes I-III) provides less than optimal clinical outcomes in most disease conditions because it cannot produce the deep tissue laser penetration necessary without using excessively long treatment times. Longer wavelengths and higher power output result in deeper penetration and higher dosage to the tissue. Larger laser therapeutic dosage levels produce improved clinical outcomes as illustrated in case and interventional studies. Certain Class IV lasers have been shown to provide both the wavelengths and output power levels necessary to trigger therapeutic cellular metabolic changes, especially when applied with scientifically based protocols.

Assessment and Comparison of the Effects Of Radial Extracorporeal Shock Wave and Low-Power Laser Therapies on Clinical and Electrophysiological Parameters in Moderate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: A Blinded Randomized Control Trial

Objectives: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common peripheral entrapment neuropathy with squeezing of the median nerve and the patient is unable to function properly. There are different physiotherapy interventions for the management of these patients and recently, shock wave therapy and low-power laser (LPL) have been widely used, but there is no strong evidence comparing the effect of shock...

A pilot study to evaluate the efficacy of class IV lasers on nonhealing neuroischemic diabetic foot ulcers in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) represent a disabling complication of diabetes that has a devastating impact on the quality of life and predict lower-limb amputation and premature mortality (1). Despite best practice, 30–40% of DFUs do not heal within 12–20 weeks (2). Novel therapeutic agents have been tested in clinical trials, and it has been estimated that ;30–50% of patients with neuropathic DF...

Low-Level Laser Therapy Versus Electrical Stimulation for the Management of Acute Bell\'s Palsy: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Purpose: Electrotherapy is a common intervention for the rehabilitation of Bell’s palsy. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and electrical stimulation (ES) are two therapeutic interventions for Bell’s palsy that have been proven to be superior to conventional treatments. To date, no clinical trial has compared the effectiveness of these two interventions. This pilot study aims to compare the effect...
